About Kokoro Massage
|“Kokoro” () is a Japanese word often translated to “heart” in English. Specifically, “kokoro” refers to the “mind”, “soul”, and “spirit”. It signifies the true nature of things and reflects my approach to massage therapy which addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic aspects of the healing process through bodywork in order to heal at the problem’s source. In addition to practiced skill, I believe intention, intuition, positivity, and communication are essential to the success of any treatment. My mission is to provide effective and comprehensive bodywork treatment plans that help my clients facilitate and harness their own healing energies towards the attainment of their health goals.|

About the FacilitiesKokoro Massage is located in the South Bay Suites building in the heart of Fairhaven, upstairs in Suite #214. Address: 1140 10th Street, Suite #214, Bellingham, WA 98225 – click here for directions and a map.
There are a handful of free parking spaces directly in front of the building, and many more all throughout beautiful Downtown Fairhaven. There is one van accessible parking spot cater-corner from the building.
There is also free parking in a large lot just across the street from South Bay at the corner of Mill Avenue and 11th Street (map). To access this lot, go north on 11th Street and turn off to the left just before Fairhaven Bicycles. A set of stairs goes up from the lot to a sidewalk that leads right to South Bay.
My office is located upstairs on the second floor. There is an elevator to the right as you enter the building for convenient accessibility. Contact me if you have any trouble getting to my office. There is a bench just outside of my room, please wait here until I’m ready to see you. Around the corner to the right from the sitting area are restrooms you may use.
In the office there is fresh filtered water, AC and heating, HEPA-grade air purification, seating, a place for your personal items, and a cozy massage table. Bolsters and pillows are provided to achieve maximum comfort and I use hypoallergenic massage oils, lotions, and linen detergent. Other emollients and essential oil options are available – ask me about my current selection if you are interested in different scents or consistencies. And if you have questions about Kokoro Massage’s facilities in general, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

About the SessionsAt Kokoro Massage, client health, comfort, and safety are paramount. All massage therapy services are professional and sessions are conducted with the client’s greatest well-being in mind. We will communicate every step of the way to make for the most comfortable, safe, and effective Bowenwork® or massage therapy experience that is tailored to your health goals. During the first session, there will be a thorough intake process to talk about your health, define your goals for bodywork, and determine the best course of treatment for you. You will fill out a health intake form, read Kokoro Massage’s policies and procedures, and sign an informed consent form. To expedite this process, you can fill out these forms prior to your first session and bring them in (download and print out forms here). Either way, I recommend you arrive to your first appointment 15-20 minutes early if you are able so that we can get the most out of both the intake process and the treatment. All sessions begin with an intake process, which is as long or brief as needed, so please arrive to all appointments about 5-10 minutes early if possible.
After discussing your health and health goals, there will be an opportunity to use the restroom, which you may use at any time during the session of course, simply ask. There is a clean robe for your convenience. Before the treatment begins, I will step out of the room and let you dress down to your level of comfort and lie on the massage table between the sheets. I will knock and receive permission prior to re-entering the room after which I will begin the treatment session. I believe communication is key to a successful bodywork session and will inform, check-in, and inquire when appropriate. I ask that you also communicate with me regarding your Bowenwork or massage therapy experience and how we can fine-tune it to your custom goals and needs. Every body is different, so do not be afraid to speak up about what you need. The session is for you. You may choose to talk or not talk during the massage. Casual conversation is fine, but I will always be focused on the massage and your well-being and never discuss inappropriate or private matters. I will always use state-mandated draping that ensures the client's safety, comfort, and privacy and only expose the specific area being worked. I will never massage the breast nipples or genitals and always receive permission from the client before working anywhere near these areas (like the adductors of the legs, psoas muscle, coccyx/tailbone, etc.).
When the session is over, I will step out of the room and give you time to come back to your body, refresh, hydrate, and get dressed. I will knock prior to re-entering the room or you may enter the door, after which we will discuss the session, subsequent sessions if appropriate, and payment. You are welcome to pay prior to the session as well. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the treatment sessions.

About Lindsey Frazier, L.M.P.
Bodywork has long been a powerful modality of healing in my life. Not only has Bowenwork® and massage therapy helped me heal from sickness and injury, but they have also helped me understand the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit and how regularly nurturing the balance between these elements can create a healthy, happy life. When I began my professional massage therapy training, I also began my professional energywork training which plays an important role in all of my sessions. I am also a registered Bowenwork® practitioner and look forward to expanding my knowledge of bodywork through advanced training, and subsequent techniques and modalities. I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, American Bowen Academy and CPR, AED, and First Aid certified by the American Red Cross. Click here for my education and qualifications.
I have a background in East Asian studies and Japanese language (B.A., Western Washington University), and I have also studied Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. I love studying languages, tutoring ESL, travelling, and exploring world cultures and spirituality. Some of my other hobbies include enjoying nature, playing with animals, reading, music, board games and tabletop RPG's, movies and TV, fashion, food, astrology, technology and video games, dancing, swimming, yoga, and meditation.
I also work part-time as a sales associate at Bellingham’s local sock shop, ModSock.
